We predicted for Indian stock market market last week  for feb 18-22,2008   Prediction for Week feb 18-22,2008   Long positions(buy) on nifty/sensex  can give profits by mid week ( Tuesday-wednesday).However the week is likely to end with net loss in the main indices.       Review:  Going long during  Monday ( feb 18 monday ) correction   would given good profits by tuesday as market surged up on tuesday.   However as predicted main indices suffered big loss on weekly basis hence shorting on tuesday ( not mentioned) would have given good profits through rest of the week.   Read our bear market predictions in December archives.

Review of the US market weekly prediction for Feb 19-22,2008

We predicted for US market last week ( monday Feb 18 was a US holiday) for feb 19-22 " US futures today are showing good opening.For the week however US market especially Dow 30 industrial index seems to indicate a mixed performance. Strategy 1: Short dow 30 as it is likely to become profitable by wednesday-Thursday during a sharp correction Strategy 2: go long on Nasdaq composite index upon any strng mid week correction as some positive tech related devlopments/news possible may drive up nasdaq comp index net weekly gains on dow 30 uncertain ( it may be positive or negative) Review: Shorting dow as per strategy 1 on Tuesday Feb 19 would have given profits on Tuesday and wednesday morning and thursday Buying as per strategy on Tueday or wednesday morning on sharp corections during these days would have become profitable next day though. Dow closed with minor gain on 32 points while nasdaq closed last week with net weekly loss
